Bike Set Up

Bike Set Up

Chris Green has completed an accredited course for the correct cycling set-up.

Whether you have just bought your bike and are looking for the correct position, or you specifically have a musculoskeletal problem that you feel maybe due to your bike set up, we can complete a comprehensive assessment and find a solution to your problem.

The set-up is completed within our gym and will involve connecting you up to our turbo trainer, and then working through a systematic measuring protocol to achieve the correct ergonomic position on your bike.

Please note this is not a performance centre so we do not set you up for varying positions to improve performance gains, although this can obviously be a side effect of the correct position.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Chris by email or phone.

Bike set up from 60 min to 90 min - £100.
Plus £30 follow up (if required) to recheck set up if changes made on initial set up.

Pilates and Franklin Method

Jenny became interested in the power of Pilates, training in Pilates Based Rehabilitation. She is a Polstar certified practitioner for Pilates Rehabilitation.

We have a Pilates Reformer at Ingledale. This equipment allows movements to be performed in a different orientation to gravity to improve movement strategies and correct imbalances within the body. It can also be used to challenge movement, balance and co-ordination for end stage rehabilitation.

Jenny teaches both 1:1 Pilates and also undertakes classes.

Jenny is also a Level 1 Franklin Method Teacher.

This method teaches you the know-how to make the most of the body/mind continuum in a practical and hands on manner. We address the mind through the use of imagery; we address the body by teaching you how it is designed to function. This creates effortless movement, alignment and balance.

For more information about the Franklin Method go to www.franklin-methode.ch.

Please call the centre for more information on 01883 818824, or email jenny@greenphysio.co.uk.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is also known as Aquatic physiotherapy and is the treatment of a wide range of conditions in a purpose built heated pool.

It utilises the;
  • Warmth of the water to relax muscles
  • Buoyancy to assist or resist movement
  • Weightlessness to ease pain and stress on the joints

You do not need to be able to swim benefit from hydrotherapy. Your head does not go under the water. If you are not confident in the water your feet can remain firmly on the bottom of the pool.

A hoist is available for those patients who are unable to manage the steps.

Conditions that benefit:
  • Post-operative orthopaedic conditions
  • Acute and chronic back pain
  • Mobilisation of stiff joints
  • Arthritic conditions
  • Muscle weakness

All sessions are carried out on a one to one basis with the physiotherapist in the water with you.

There are showering facilities in the pool area, so please bring a towel with you.

Hydrotherapy is covered by all the major Health Insurance companies.

If you have any questions please feel free to call us.

Shockwave Therapy Treatment

Shockwave therapy is the non-invasive administration of high-intensity sound waves that scientific studies have shown effectively reduce pain in tendon and bone tissue, increase blood flow to bone-tendon junctions, regulate cellular inflammation and increase activity of healthy bone and tendon cells.

It can be used to help a variety of conditions including plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy, trochanteric bursitis, tennis elbow and stress fractures.

Many of the large Insurers cover this treatment for their patients under their existing private policies. If you do not hold health insurance you can pay us directly for this treatment.

The first treatment will include an initial assessment to ensure that the treatment is appropriate for your condition. If this treatment is not appropriate you will be charged the normal physio fee for this initial assessment and treatment only.

Please contact us for more information, or to make an appointment with either Chris Green or Anne Sorensen.

Initial assessment and shockwave treatment £90.
